Rescue team members had been keeping an eye on the waterfall and noticed as it turned rust brown. They believed that more mud would follow and decided to make a run for it out of the house, which is located near the area where the waterfall streams to the sea. They went behind the old liquor store, a house close by. At last the landslide fell on both sides of the house that they shielded themselves by and they watched as the landslide snatched a few houses all the way down to the sea.
