„It was like in a horror movie. You look at your back yard and the mountain you grew up with just explode.”

Jafet had already moved his car below his parents’ house because he was afraid that a landslide might fall on the parking lot above the house. When the landslide started falling Jafets brother ran up to the second floor of the house but he and their father had been in the conservatory at the front side of the house. “We were just waiting for death.” Jafet watched the landslide fall on the other side of the stream and shatter a shed that stood there. Holding his dog in his arms he saw as the landslide snatched Framhúsið and waited for the blow on the house he stood in. He grew up playing at that mountain and he felt like it had betrayed him.
