Permission to start clean-up work was granted at the edges of the area, but not for the landslide area itself. Two excavators and one truck were at work at the edge of the landslide area and movement in the mountain was closely watched. The machines were called off the area when a little spew came flowing down Breiðablikslækur, but they soon got permission to start the work again.
