When another landslide fell from Nautaklauf, Breiðablik was snatched from its foundation and carried out to Hafnargata. When the house floated it turned for 180 degrees. The first landslides that fell in town had surrounded the house which was located within the area that had been evacuated. The day before the cellar of the house had filled up and braking a window to ease the pressure been discussed. Birgir Guðmundsson, resident in Seyðisfjörður, heard a loud rumble when the landslide fell from the canyon and believes that the landslide is about one metre thick in Austurvegur. He says that it is obvious that the house is very damaged. Sandra Mjöll Jónsdóttir believes that the garage saved her house from the landslide, but her house is next door to Breiðablik. It is believed that even more houses would have had the same fate as Breiðablik if it would not have been for the clean-up work the day before. Cordoula Fchrand, owner of Breiðablik, had been doing a lot of renovation work in the house before it was taken by the landslide.
