„Then you saw the poor rescue workers running at full speed. It was traumatic to watch”

Þórarinn was located in the middle of the landslide area. He had been called next door, but in the same instance he came there somebody yelled for everybody to get out. He watched as the landslide fell on both sides of where he was. The landslide landed on a rescue team vehicle and snatched a truck from the street and slammed it on the house. He realised that he had left a cat he was babysitting in the house and ran back to the house to get it. When Þórarinn returned he met a rescue team member and they stayed for some time behind the house before going down below the old liquor store above the marina. When most of the action had passed, they waded the newly fallen landslide up to their knees, while it was still splashing, to get down to the ferry house.
