Brimir’s father had just gotten out of the shower when he heard the rumble that followed the landslide. He took his son and ran with him in his arms out of the house and down to the pier. Since he thought the house might land on them, he prepared himself to jump in the ocean. It all went better than expected and Silfurhöllin, the house above their house saved their home, Þórshamar, from the biggest blow. “It was full of dirt, huge nails, and a car door and just full of earth. Then the houses. I witnessed many houses fall down.” When the landslide had come to a stop, he and his son climbed up on it and started running towards the rescue team building. Brimir could run without sinking in the mud, but it was harder for his father to do and he got a little bit injured on the run. A man greeted them, helped them into cover, and transported them by a car of the area.
